I hope you do realize that handbrakes have nothing to do with slowing and stopping trains and haven't for over 100 years. Handbrakes are used as a parking brake. Also it is stated the repairs were made following an inspection. That's the way it works. Inspect and repair. Much better than fail and repair which represents how many of us maintain our automobiles. And the last point is that this is a quote from the NY Post. Is there a more sensationalist disreputable "paper" in the New York area?"
