Siemens has hoped that Amtrak would move the AAF / Brightline trainsets to Florida. However, this is currently being protested by the UP, who claims that Amtrak can not transport non-Amtrak owned or operated equipment for hire. This means, since the AAF equipment is not owned or not going to be operated by Amtrak in any way, they can not make the movements for Siemens, unless it is done for free. UP wants the business, and is working with Siemens to work out the details, but I would not expect the trainset to move until mid December.
