"Switchback" was most definitely filmed on the Grande, and yes, both on the Moffat and Tennesse Pass routes. If you are ever railfanning the Tunnel District and find yourself passing through Wondervu on Rt.72 (aka Coal Creek Canyon Rd), you should stop in and have a bite at the Wondervu Café. Great Tex Mex cuisine with a kick. While there, you will see a number of photos and plaques on the walls from the filming of "Switchback". Seems the production crew and cast alike, including Danny Glover, ate there quite a bit during the filming in and around Pinecliffe. I haven't seen the movie in years and will probably track it down this winter now that you've all piqued my interest in this movie once again!
