Fires in the Feather River and UP

Does anyone know if the fires currently burning along Highway 70, the Feather River Highway, have altered the traffic patterns on UP through the Canyon? I ask because I was camping up at Sloat over the 4th, and the traffic must have been off by at least 60% from last year. I don't think more than many 8 to 10 trains per day passed by, whereas there were at least 25 trains per day last year. Not a single train used the siding at Sloat, and last year, we had two four train meets there.

I was wondering if UP has shifted traffic away from the Canyon, and if they have temporarily taken the sidings in the canyon between about James and Twain out of service so no train would be stopped in the fire zone.

Anyone know? And if you weren't paying attention, Highway 70 has been closed for over two weeks now.
