So, this Canon DSLR camera kit at Costco...well, leeme tell ya about it...
I spent $1500 on a Canon DSLR there and was not impressed and was returned the very next day. Why?
First, the kit I got had lenses that weighed nothing. Felt like cheap plastic. The telephoto one weighed less than the camera. No metal in it at all.
Second, with my shooting style (not everyone's cup of tea) but I like using the large LCD on the back instead of bringing the camera up to my eye to shoot. The Canon 80D was not able to power up with the LCD active, you had to go turn it on every time. I even contacted Canon about this and they said it is not possible and they would not even attempt a firmware update to make it an option.
On the good side, they did tell me about a line of cameras that would do this. Their ProShot line did work this way and ironically my old camera is of that lineage.
So I bought a G3X to replace my aging Pro90is. Paid about $850 online and with extra batteries and a USB charger totaled about $950.
And FYI, the camera can take at least a 200GB (micro)SD card for looooooooooots of pictures and video and has a very decent lens size (not removable).
Only downside for me is that the G3X is not capable of attaching a lens protector without a plastic adapter and the flash is a bit weak, but I like natural light photography.
