You don't want a low numbered one, as in 8800 series, because the locomotive frames weren't heavy enough to prevent sagging slightly. This in turn lead to constant flexing of the crankshaft as it rotated, which eventually would cause it to break. I forget what the cut-off number is, but that NREX tunnel motor has the beefed up version of the locomotive frame which solved the problem.
