FACT: The major railroad you are referring too has never ONCE denied 4449 to use their mainline to operate to Union Station to run an excursion or attend a special event such as Amtrak’s national train day celebrations. This major railroad even double header with their own never retired 4-8-4 back in 2007. There are plenty of YouTube videos of this event.
FACT: 4449 is in the final stages of making a trip to Bend, Oregon at the end of June 2017… it will need to operate over the major railroad once again you refer too to begin its excursion out of Union Station…. So I fail to see how this can be considered being held captive to the confines of the ORHC or the OPR.
Doyle has a good professional working relationship with this “railroad” you refer too, they did just donate a diesel that was part of their own steam program for years to the 4449 group. The OPR has the perfect rail line location in the heart of Portland “the city that owns the engine” for 4449 to stretch her legs and let the local residents and surrounding communities of the Portland area enjoy a neat peace of living history right in their hometown. The OPR has been very gracious in allowing her to operate on their line.
Should really get your statement of facts right, just sounds like you have a chip on your shoulder about a certain railroad.
