Well, I heard the word "queer" used in a serious context the other day in an NPR radio story. Heck, I thought it was a derogatory term, but there it was used with a straight face by a gay rights advocate. Maybe only gays can use the term, kind of like Richard Pryor calling himself a n**ro?

Who knows anymore. Bizarre.

One question I have: Is it legal to call a Mexican a "Mexican"? Everyone uses the word, "hispanic", now to describe anyone who speaks Spanish. So is it verboten to say, "Mexican" or that considered insensitive. Wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings... lol.

These fights over social and ethnic labels are a real headache, eh?
