Worth the Gas...........

Steam fans should spend a day in Virginia City this summer, ride the V&T then spend the afternoon chasing the sights and sounds of a working steam locomotive. Plant yourself on the hillside above Gold Hill, watch the 4pm train labor uphill from American Flat. The spectacular setting won't disappoint and the whistle echoes can't be beat. It's become my afternoon contitutional. Call ahead to see if steam is running, 775-847-0380. Every time we drove to Willits or got on the North Coast Daylight in Eureka we all joked amoung ourselves "is this the last time?" Take advantage of this......you never know what next summer may bring!
