It's impossible to "plan" an image like this. I was standing there with my hands in my pockets, (warming my fingers with hand warmers!) and was noticing breaks in the beams of sunlight coming through the branches in that tree...when the engineer blew the whistle signaling the move forward. I framed up a shot and clicked off a few frames. Right place, right time. I did have the camera set to monochrome, however :)
