Ken ---
I am soooo sorry you are sick with one of those crappy
bugs that has been going around. That is really sad.
From what I heard, it can hang on for a month -- NOT fun!
And it is really, really sad that your dear cat, Prancer,
died. I really feel for ya, man, because I had cats for
my whole life, and they meant the world to me. They ARE
part of the family, and give us unconditional love, which
we all need.
I send my condolences to you on Prancer's passing, and my
best wishes for a speedy recovery from whatever bug that
got you.
Thanks for the link to that video. I never knew that the
"Mythbusters" crew had ever been to our (GGRM's) Hunter's
Point site. That video gave some great glimpses of the 2467,
a Daylight-painted car, the former SP business car "Oakland",
our handcar, and Building 810, as well as other equipment.
I have no idea when this episode was made, but it had to have
been before September, 2005, when the 2467 was moved out of
Hunters Point. Anyone know when that episode was made? Thanks!
As far as that Mythbusters episode "proving" that you probably
could not get killed by peeing on an energized third rail --
it did not prove anything. Anyone who wanted to see if peeing
on an energized third rail would kill someone would need to do
an intelligently-designed experiment -- which is not what this
"Mythbusters" crew did. This show -- and it was a "show", was
entertainment, NOT science. Please remember that. Those guys
are NOT scientists and have NO training in science at all.
They have done a lot of harm by mis-educating millions of people,
who did not know enough about science to know they were being
misinformed. Sigh.......
