Requiring user accounts to post here would increase the server workload as well as mine.

The software functionality already exists to implement user accounts, but I disabled it years ago because it was getting inundated with overseas spammers (and likely hackers, too) trying to sign up.

Despite the flame wars and occasional spammer, a hands off approach is really what works best for me. I would otherwise have to approve every user account and deal with any problems users might have signing up or logging in. This would consume far more time on my part. Might even cost more depending on the additional server load, not sure.

I'm happy to let this board continue provided it doesn't consume more time or money.
