If you want to discuss politics in an echo chamber, there are plenty of the places to do that. However, if you want to present your right-wing views on Altamont Press, prepare to man up and defend your beliefs when some of us challenge your posts.
Since politics has been bought up again on this site and this is a railfan discussion forum, I thought some of you would be interested in a bit of socialist/railroad trivia.
The Cincinnati Southern, a 337-mile railroad linking Cincinnati, Ohio with Chattanooga, Tennessee was built by the City of Cincinnati in the late 1800s. Opened in 1880, it is the only long-distance railroad line currently owned by a municipality. The line is leased to the Cincinnati, New Orleans and Texas Pacific, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Norfolk Southern. Income generated by the railroad funds Cincinnati's infrastructure projects.
