The BNSF double - track mainline runs through and against the hills between Centralia & Longview, WA. Just South of Chehalis is Napavine Hill, a good uphill pull for Southbounds. Then after the line crosses the Cowlitz River at Olequa, it runs right next to the river all the way to Kelso - Longview. Lotsa side creeks and other opportunities for flooding and mudslides along here, considering the snow then rain of the past week in Western Washington State.
