Many Trees Down Today In Santa Cruz County

This morning a group of very large eucalyptus trees came down the hillside from above Park Ave. in Capitola. The bases of the trunks of the trees slid across Park Ave and embedded in the roadbed of the rail line. It appears there is damage to the Park Ave road surface, but the rail line may not have suffered any damage. SC&MB track inspectors are out today inspecting the entire rail line to access what work needs to be done for their 2017 operations.
