There goes a few hundred jobs - but "Y'all better still get the same work done!". . Oh! And also a lot less service to UP's already frustrated customers in the area.
Also, like all other "Public Utilities" - the gov't (Fed) may well allow UP to just pass it on to the customers. . After all, if it weren't for the customers, there would be no trains, thus no fires. . So obviously, it was the customer's fault anyway!
But what the hey - "Go pay for truck fuel if you don't like it!". . Any way it goes down - the CEO will just go on $Buckin$ and Truckin!
