I recently found this book on ebay. It's by Gerald M. Best. Golden Spike edition. I've never seen it before and don't recall seeing it in say way back issues of TRAINS magazine. But it is a gold mine of pictures I've never seen anywhere. Not even on walls at CSRM. The chapter discussing May 10th 1869, while all the most important folks were having lunch A.J. Russel took the time to pose lessor officials and even, the band of the 21st regiment of the U.S. Infantry. One pose, looking at the Jupiter from the side and another from the same view with the 119. If your into that period of time, this would be a great investment.
In 1969, this book was printed with a $10.00 price tag. I paid $11.00, plus 3 bucks shipping. Not a bad return.
