No trail this year

JBRO - sorry but there will be no construction of rail-with-trail this year. Last week, Bike Santa Cruz County, Friends of Rails & Trails, Campaign for Sensible Transportation and Trail Now all made statements at the Santa Cruz City Planning Commission asking for all Coastal Corridor funds be diverted to roads for improving bikes. No politician is going to waste tax dollars on a half-ass trail. The question that will be asked of RTC Staff is "where are you going to get the money for a train and do you support a new tax measure to pay for it". No one will support a new tax measure and then they will ask - "why are we letting the property sit".

I can't really arrange when the Sentinel would post my letter - so close enough to April 1st.
