When BART opens, VTA is planning on introducing a new route 500 bus between the San Jose Caltrain station and the Berryessa BART station. This option would be a lot faster than using LRT to Milpitas and changing to BART there. By using it, you would not have an "all-rail" trip but you would get to ride the Berryessa-Milpitas segment without backtracking, so that's another option.
