Seems like anything is possible - no good way to predict. You can find out what your particular train is doing before leaving for the station at Amtraks' Track-A-Train web site, or, with a better design (same data), [asm.transitdocs.com]. From Portland south, weather hasn't been a huge problem recently, though some big delays still occur for unclear reasons. Many landslides between Portland and Seattle, though, have interrupted service this spring - sometimes, the southbound Starlight originates at Portland when they happen.
