Steve, If only this project changed the likelihood of a switcher on Illinois Street. Unfortunately, the port railroad infrastructure referenced in the press release refers to the Quint St. lead and the old container yard. The fill will be trucked down Illinois to the railroad yard where it is transloaded to what are known as "dirty dirt gons" and then shipped out by the Union Pacific. There is no access to the construction site via rail because the "powers that be" refused to install a diamond across the MUNI tracks crossing Illinois or save the Mission Bay wye access to Illinois St.
