Track #1 to be reinstalled - it's official along with CZ reroutes

From a reliable source!!!! Great news indeed:

As many of you have heard the UP has started the process of re-constructing the # 1 track between switch 9 ( Emigrant Gap) and Shed 10. Currently track panels are being built on site for tunnels 35, 36, & 37 as well as the bridge at Crystal Lake west of Shed 10. The plan will be to activate construction windows of at least 24 hours this will allow the complete removal of the main track ( future # 2) in the above mentioned tunnels, undercutting the roadbed and roof notching if needed. All the steel ties in the tunnels will be replaced with wood ties. Target of December for the # 1 to be completed from Switch 9 to Shed 10. Then next spring work will start re-constructing the # 1 from Norden to Eder. via the CP line thru tunnels 6,7, & 8.

Schedule for Amtrak 5 & 6 Detours via the Canyon Sub-Div.
