This "manifesto" is nonsense from both an economic and environmental standpoint.

I've been involved in two major electrification studies and even at diesel prices three or four times today's levels electrification doesn't pencil out. The emissions differences from Tier 3 and Tier 4 diesel technologies also makes RR electrification one of the most expensive "marginal cost" CO2 or NOx reductions money can buy, compared to the many low cost or even "profitable" emissions reductions from other emissions sources.

It is not an energy problem that prevents or would hamper electrification, it's the cost and ROI on RR electrification that are the show stoppers. We have plenty of electricity, and more than enough for on road EV's too. So some of those responses are equally ignorant (but opposite) uninformed drivel, pandering to a different "brand" of "true believer" ignorance.

This manifesto is just your typical "green weenie" "true believer" nonsense, that is pandering to the legitimate public concerns about climate changing emissions. But, as is usually the case with the "true believer" types on both fringes, it is light on the math and science that would justify this costly "solution".
