Longest mainline, perhaps (I am not sure).

BUT, not longest mainline run. I believe that SP never ran a through (passenger) train from Portland to New Orleans. San Francisco, yes. Portland, I don't think so. Freight runs -- no idea.

I believe the longest one-railroad passenger train was Santa Fe's San Francisco Chief.
