Yea -- that statement doesn't sound right to me either. A derail in advance of a moveable bridge only " knows " two things: Bridge open or up = derail open , or bridge closed or down = derail closed. Train speed has little or nothing to do with it. We're not talking Saluda Grade runaway track here !!!
