The big span was only single track. I caught a lite engine one afternoon from Bayshore to Oakland with Ed Lynch as the hoghead. I had never been on the track before. It was on July 28, 1969 and we had a single "F" unit, the 6460 for the Shasta Daylight. We were on the bridge and he called "Clear Board". The TO board was up in the steel work and only saw it when we went under it. Itwas just a single track steel span.
