Only about 1 in 8 "graduates" from the Sac City course are of any use. They typically know everything and are unteachable. The railroads dont want any new hires to have railroad knowledge because then they can teach them their way instead of having to retrain against bad habits. The railroad industry and airline industry are apples and oranges, try not to compare the two when it comes to hiring and training.
