Hale, Robert (Photo Bob) Morris, Arnold Menke, John Signor, Mike Pechner and a host of other photographers, plus countless of hours of interviews done by Angelo NWP principals including "Mad-Dog" Michael Ongerth, former VP & GM of NWP, Allan DeMoss, Ken Dixon, Allan Hemphill, Chairman NCRA Board of Directors, A.T. Lewis former NWP Superintendent and Senior CONTRAL manager, and dozens of other officials of SP and NWP who were on the ground during the coverage period of this book, 1950 to 2001. This is a actual history of those who lived it and and were part of it during this turbulent period. This book is the story of actual events as they happened by the people who were part of it and had first hand knowledge of the events depicted in this book. No FAKE NEWS here, but actual figures from NWP and SP files and pictures to go with it both B & W and color. This book is richly illustrated and contains over 307 photographs, 300 previously unpublished, 103 in color and 83 full page images on heavy stock GLOSSY paper. The basis of this book is 167 oral histories from NWP employees past and present numbering thousand of pages of testimony. There are 54 tables and charts documenting things covering carloading, improvement projects, motive power, and operations. The book is over 400 pages long and published by the Northwestern Pacific Railroad, Technical and Historical Society. All proceeds benefit the Society.
