Road in one when I was a kid. Was trying to get a ride to a cousin's house in Niles Canyon and asking anyone that was going that way. An SP engineer who happened to be the store I said he could take me, but in a box car. The tracks were slow order for some reason and could drop me off near the old Mission Clay plant. It was rattling and fun and had a story to tell. Nowadays that would be unheard of, especially from a RR employee.
