I have a few vague recollections of Charlie Small. He was manager of the Municipal Railway’s Mason Street Cable Car Barn back in 1971. He gave me free rein to wander that facility taking night time photos. He also gave me a sign which I treasure to this day

He preserved the chicken coop which later became heritage unit 35 on the Sacramento light rail.

He authored a book for Ira Swett (Inteurban Press) about the Market Street Railway White Front Cars.

He represented the pre-1960s generation who populated Baghdad By The Bay back when civility was in vogue.
