I went to Snowman's first link just now and the blog post has been updated with some positive news:

"The good news is twofold: one, the original purpose of this post was accomplished in that it drew attention to the national and international interest that the museum holds, and two, a museum board member confirmed that the board overwhelmingly rejected Ogden City's plans to remove the rail center and, for now, the collections are safe. We will now wait to see if these plans are resurrected in the future, at which time action will be necessary."
