I second that, and it's a shame many of the younger buffs these days don't make any attempt to learn standard industry terminology or practices, but rather just sit around and wait to be told where to go on SnapCrap or Bookface in response to some "awesome" consist.
For those of us who started fanning in the 70s and 80s, how long did it take you to figure out that number sequence is standardly LOADS-EMPTIES-TONS-LENGTH? Maybe because we cared and wanted to learn? Maybe because we (or least I) were seeking to move into the industry for a career, so railfanning was seen as OJT (yeah, tough, cupcake-- not going to define that one for you)?
Thanks for the continued reports, SLO. Your efforts are appreciated by most.
