I have flown in and out of the Cleveland, Ohio, airport several times, although not recently.

The Cleveland rapid transit has its western terminal at the airport. My recolection is that it is not a very long walk from the baggage area. Quite a few people use the treminal.

Does anyone have an idea how far the walk is?

It is unfortunate that LAX does not have a direct rail connection.
