There's "California's Tidewater Shortlines," by Norman W. Holmes (Shade Tree Books 2009, ISBN 0-930742-36-2), which includes the Tidewater Southern, CCT, ST&E, lines in the SF Bay Area, but not M&ET. I'm sure there were various "Western Railroaders" on these subjects back in the day.
