Here is a USGS topo map view of the tunnel from 1960. Note that the highest contour line is 200 ft, which is consistent with the maximum 255 ft terrain profile above the tunnel per Google Earth (as noted above). The lighter lines indicate 40 ft intervals extending down to the level of Pudding Creek (top) and Noyo River (bottom), which are close to sea level at this location.
