There was a crossing in Searcy, Arkansas on the Missouri & North Arkansas that had that type of protection. I can't find the picture at the moment but I think it was posted to the Arkansas Railroad History group on Facebook within the last year. That part of the M&NA was abandoned in 1947 so it was before that.
