The old Riverside, now that place holds a few memories for me. It was always packed especially on weekend nights in the 70's and 80's and they had good c&w entertainment there. One night I strolled in and Freddy Fender and his band were playing. Yep, wasted days and wasted nights.
A very good friend of mine was a bouncer there. There was quite a commotion one night and he was struggling to eject a group of rowdies. He got a couple of them out the door by the restaurant and was shoving them by their collars down the sidewalk. When someone yanked him from behind, he spun around and with one punch knocked the guy off his feet and he landed on the hood of a car out cold. Trouble was it was a Tukwila police officer. Someone had called the police and the officer did not realize he was a bouncer, nor did my friend know that it was a cop attacking him from behind. He got into a lot of trouble over that, but was not sentenced to any time behind bars, except for the initial arrest. Normally he would never do anything like that.
