I guess they should have torn out a siding to honor "Gust" Melonas.
Per capita Americans use about they same amount of energy as they did in 1970, even though homes per sq ft, appliances, cars etc. use much less energy. Surprisingly however, "energy conscious" Americans have more appliances, cars and bigger homes to eat up all the savings.
So in that light, it especially strikes as an imbecilic comment, which is exactly what I always expect.
