Kinda like apples vs oranges.
With the old Alco you have Blunt trucks and friction bearings plus a frame that's probably been in a collision or two and a hood that isn't large enough for the prime mover, gear reduction and EMD alternator.
An EMD GP-style under frame (possibly reused from a good donor), Blomberg trucks with EMD D-78 traction motors and a whole new carbody is the way to go since the electricals are EMD and parts availability is what matters down the road.
I think their concept of using the AR10 alternator with the 2:1 gearbox is genius!
