Amtrak is actually short two Talgo trainsets, as the train involved in the Steilacoom derailment last summer is also out of service. A friend saw it being trucked out of Seattle, one car at a time, back to Wisconsin for repairs.
The morning North / evening South Vancouver Cascades is currently using either SuperCans or AmCan / Horizon cars, which frees up a Talgo Trainset for use on the Portland runs.
