I Googled "Beale St team track San Francisco" just to see what would come up. And the Beale Street team track construction project was mentioned in an SP Bulletin dated 1922.

But the more interesting story is that the SP was in expansion mode, and the remarkable list of other projects that were happening. Construction of tie treating plants, a new classification yard in LA, a new steel bridge over the Colorado River at Yuma, the Natron Cutoff, major double-tracking projects, and more.
