New TriMet Light Rail Cars

TriMet now has five new Siemens S70 light rail cars at its Ruby Junction (Gresham) shops. Four of the cars (#401-404) are currently undergoing testing prior to entering service later this year. The latest arrival, #405, came in just last week by lowboy trailer from the Siemens factory in Sacramento, Calif. The agency will receive 17 more of the cars before it opens its new Green Line in September 2009. Once in service, they will operate throughout the system.
