Note also that the "private" HSR project in TX is running into many of the same issues as CAHSR wrt NIMBY. Also the places that are run-through and might be slightly mollified with a stop (i.e. make it a bus that stops every few blocks, given the size of TX counties in the DFW-HOU region). Much of the opposition to the Brightline project in FL also seems to be rooted in "where's my stop?"
