Quickly gaining momentum out of Stockton Yard having just received authorization to proceed south down the Oakland Subdivision, UP 9992 (ex-WP 3558) relives the glory days. Throughout the engine's career on the Western Pacific, it served at the helm of famed trains like the Bay Area Forwarder and the Chicago-California Van Express along this exact trackage. Although toting thirteen grain hoppers on today's Turlock Local isn't quite as elegant as the aforementioned duties from its past life, the robust GP40-2 is right at home on the First Subdivision in French Camp.
