Rail passenger service returns to Ione WA ... sort of ...

The North Pend Oreille Lions Club at one time sponsored occasional passenger excursions on the Port of Pend Oreille tracks at Ione WA (former MILW branch), however those trains were forced to end by tougher bridge inspection requirements. Since freight trains no longer went that far north, there was no money to rebuild the bridges.

So, now that opens those tracks for ... railbikes.
