Fires ravage Ute Park NM

The Ute Park area has experienced devastating forest fires in the last few days that include the historical Cimarroncita Ranch. Ute Park was the western terminus of the Saint Louis Rocky Mountain & Pacific Railway or Swastika Route. The railway had originally built the Cimmarroncita Ranch as a tourist resort. Later it served as a girls camp and then a private "dude" ranch. The Boy Scouts of America bought the ranch and its historical buildings in recent years.
