I spent 5 days in Palisade, Nevada just a week ago. 114 trains during that time. When you get to Carlin driving east,take the first exit Hwy. 278 west for about 9 miles. You'll see a green sign and a big alfalfa field. Exit right, proceed a couple miles on the gravel road across the bridge, and right across the tracks. All the NorCal freight traffic east-west routes through there. Palisade is a 'don't miss' if you're driving through Carlin. Myriad number of good photo-ops. River area still very green. AMTK # 5s were running a couple hours late and I saw them every morning around 6 to 7:30 AM.
