Del Monte Memories

Back around 1970/71 I was stationed at Ft. Ord. Did all the tourist things, Cannery Row, Monterey.
Over X-Mas of 70/71, I went home to Massachusetts.
Returned to "Frisco" Jan of 71. Made my way to the Greyhound bus station; the line of returning GI's stretched for blocks.
I remembered the SP's station at 3rd and Townsand? and made my there.
The Del Monte was ready to head south to Ft. Ord, and beyond, so I bought a ticket and boarded.
Don't remember the ride, it's been 47 years, but...
got to the front gate to the Ft., train stopped and I got off, along with ONE other returning soldier.
Crossed Rte 101(?), and entered the grounds.
Looking up at the south bound lane, there were +/- 10 buses backed up.
