Thanks for that, what a trip!

For context, there is incredibly detailed aerial photography of the entire city of San Francisco, from 1938 by Harrison Ryker, giving a nice overview of all the rail infrastructure that no longer exists.

You can zoom and pan through these photographs in Google Earth, and blend back and forth between then and now. They are so detailed that you can see striping on a basketball court.
