I feel really bad for the progeny, the future generations. At least for them they have not seen the better times so they do not have anything to compare now to, which would really depress them.

Basically what we have now is cascading social and economic royalism - the absolute rule of the 1% of the 1%. Maybe we will get real royals once again so the miserable masses can live vicarious happy lives thru them, as in the UK.

Left-right: what a joke. If you are into 401K's you are a conservative. Mores are not a left-right issue; historically you can have permissive rightists and puritanical leftists. You can not get more licentious nor debauched than Imperial Rome, Kumbaya has a ways to go to achieve that.
